Mike Husa » Adult Basic Education

The Bethel Regional Adult Basic Education Program offers GED® preparation and instruction in reading, writing and math. The Bethel Regional ABE Program operates as a partnership between Yuut Elitnaurviat and the State of Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Some villages have an ABE program; call to find out about your village. The Bethel Regional ABE Center is open all year, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Students may enroll at any time during the year, but the earlier in the year, the better.  Feel free to contact us at (907) 543-0951 or (907) 543-0952.

1. GED® Program: The Bethel Regional ABE Program is an Official Pearson Vue GED® Testing Center. The GED® program offers an accredited high school diploma. An individualized study plan is developed for each student to prepare for GED® testing.
2. Adult Basic Education: The Bethel Regional ABE program offers basic academic skill building in math, reading and writing for the purpose of earning a GED®, getting or keeping a job, or entering college or training.
3. Assessments: The Bethel Regional ABE Program offers assessment testing weekly. We administer the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Tutoring is provided, if needed. Assessment tests are required for GED® students and often are needed for vocational training and employment.
