Changing of the Guard

Here at Yuut Elitnaurviat we pride ourselves on being responsive to the needs of our students, partners, and community. Over the years we have been blessed with great Executive Directors. I have worked with every single one of them and can attest to the fact that each has left their own lasting influence on this organization.

Dennis Dishion has been with YE as an instructor since 2003, and took over the helm as our Executive Director a year and a half ago. During his tenure we have seen our programs revitalized and our relationships with AVCP, LKSD, and the Kuskokwim Learning Academy flourish like never before. We will be expanding our facilities over the next year and KLA will become a permanent program on our campus with the construction of state-of-the-art academic and residential space that the school deserves. We are also adding an additional Trades Shop and will be launching Aviation training programs. The Yuut Campus is bustling with activity and we could not be in a better place as an organization. For all of this we are profoundly thankful.

What any student who has ever had the privilege of being in a classroom with Dennis Dishion will tell you is that he is one of, if not the, best teacher they have ever had. And like any gifted educator, he misses teaching. Dennis is fabulous in his current role, but he genuinely wants to get back into the classroom with students. Luckily, sometimes the stars align, like they have for us this fall, and a perfect transition is happening. Dennis is getting back to what he truly loves and we are welcoming a new Executive Director here at Yuut. We get the best of everything!

The Board of Directors and Staff of Yuut Elitnaurviat are thrilled to announce that our new Executive Director Mike Hoffman will begin his tenure on September 19, 2017. Over the years we have worked with Mike on several initiatives during his time at AVCP, Inc. and through his passionate advocacy for Aviation programs in the YK Delta. He is a lifelong Bethelite whose love of this region and the people in it is undeniable and infectious. His Aviation background could not come at a more ideal time since YE will be taking over the Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate program from AVCP, Inc. and launching the first cohort within the next year. Mike’s positive energy and networking skills will smooth the way as we continue to grow and expand our programs and services.

Please help us welcome Mike to the YE Family. We know that he is going to be stellar and are delighted that he has decided to join our team.
