Yuut Elitnaurviat offers Commercial Driver Training programs to meet the needs of local employers and students. Ensuring a reliable transportation system and transportation workforce is critical to both our nation and our region’s economic growth and well-being. A reliable transportation system begins with meeting the demand for commercial drivers which deliver freight, keep our water and sewer systems functioning, and are an integral part of the oil and gas, mining, and construction trades. Our training program allows local Alaskans to obtain the technical and professional skills required for entry-level employment in a Commercial Driving Career.
Full CDL Class A Training Program (6 weeks)
Students will learn the skills necessary to work as a professional Class A truck driver anywhere in the nation. The training is a mix of classroom instruction, skills training on our private CDL training pad, and behind-the-wheel instruction in the Yuut Driving Academy’s very own Class A Tractor Trailer. Classes are held 8AM to 5PM Monday through Friday with weekends off.
Prerequisites: DOT Physical, DMV Driving Record, FMCSA/DOT Drug Test, Original Birth Certificate and Social Security Card, Valid Driver License for 12 months.
Cost for Class A Training Program:
- Tuition: $6,000
- Meals & Lodging: $5,600
- Required Fees: $475
Full CDL Class B Training Program (2 weeks)
Students will learn the skills necessary to work as a professional Class B truck driver anywhere in the nation. The training is a mix of classroom instruction, skills training on our private CDL training pad, and behind-the-wheel instruction in the Yuut Driving Academy’s very own Class B Dump Truck and Water Truck. Classes are held 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, with weekends off.
Prerequisites: DOT Physical, DMV Driving Record, FMCSA/DOT Drug Test, Original Birth Certificate and Social Security Card, Valid Driver License for 12 months.
Cost for Class B Training Program:

- Meals & Lodging: $2,400
- Required Fees: $495
