Yuut Elitnaurviat’s GED Works Program is designed to help people in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta overcome barriers to employment. The program offers assistance in passing the GED Test Battery, as well as receiving industry recognized credentials in Transportation, Healthcare, and the Construction Trades. This program is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Alaska Native Education Equity.
Do I Qualify?
The GED Works Program is available to people in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta who are recent High School graduates, who are working on their GED through the Bethel Regional ABE Program, or who received their GED through the Bethel Regional ABE Program. People who qualify for the program will have received their GED on or after July 1, 2010 or received their High School Diploma after May 2010.
What can the GED Works Program do for me?
Yuut Elitnaurviat can use funds from the program to help current students and recent graduates receive skills training in addition to their GED. Since Yuut Elitnaurviat is a workforce development organization, we are looking for people who are prepared to go to work – not who just want to train. Applicants will need to have an employer who is willing to hire them upon completion of their training or reception of a GED.
